Food and inflammation

Food can be our biggest source of healing IF we understand what foods work with our bodies.
By the end of this course you will know how to teach your patients to use food and to eat in a way that will work with their bodies not against them

Learning objectives

In collaboration as a healthcare team:

  • Review the standard American diet and how it is negatively impacting health

  • Recall the role of fats, sugar, meats, and carbohydrates on the body

  • Learn how to detoxify the body and improve insulin resistance

  • Learn how hormones affect nutrition and vice versa

  • Review nutritional protocol for disease states

Instructor Erin Gagne, FNP-C

Erin Gagne FNP-C is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with an extensive and unique background. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 and moved to South Carolina From there. She worked for 8 years as a nurse in the Cardiothoracic ICU at the medical University of South Carolina prior to pursuing her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner graduating in 2016. Erin's career has taken her from many different areas including internal medicine, Physical medicine with a focus on natural pain relief including remedies such as PRP and stem cell, Aesthetic medicine, and Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy/ functional medicine. In 2017 she became certified as an Aesthetic Injector and continued to pursue her knowledge and growth in the area since. It was through her own personal battle with two autoimmunities that she found her love and passion for functional medicine, gut health and hormone replacement therapy. Erin Believes a blend of the two is the recipe for true anti-aging medicine. In 2019 she completed a fellowship in Anti- Aging and Functional Medicine through the American board of Anti-aging Medicine and became board certified through the American Board of Anti-aging Health Practitioners(ABAAHP). Her goal now is to use a blend of her own personal experience as well as years of research and education to help empower others to heal their own bodies. She has helped hundreds of men and women balance their hormones, heal their guts, and step back into their power. Erin’s goal is to help each patient feel their best inside and out. She loves being able to see the physical transformation in her clients when they are truly feeling their best.
